This was the latest case with Nokia, who decided to mock Samsung’s Galaxy S4 zoom and its fatty 15.4 mm waistline. The Finnish guys went online on Twitter, after originally posting the funny Condescending Wonka pic on their Conversation Blog.

According to Nokia, it was actually a fan who generated the meme, and they only used it for a laugh, but we think that it got the point across. So what’s your opinion on this?

BlackBerry officially announced via its Twitter account that the BBM service will hit Android and iOS as a standalone app on June 27. At first, BBM will only support chats, multi-person chats, voice note sharing, and BlackBerry Groups (allowing BBM users to set up groups to share calendar, photos, files, and so on).

However, the company intends to make the BBM for Android and iOS as fully featured as it is on BlackBerry 10, a step which will be made gradually.

The functionality of the app will be expanded with some of the new BBM features such as Voice and video calls, Screenshare, and the just announced Channels. All of these will emerge as future updates.

During a speech today in front of parliament, the European Commissioner demanded support for moving through legislation a complete telecoms package which would include all of Europe, and which should come in action by Easter of 2014.

“I want us to show citizens that the EU is relevant to their lives. That we made the digital rules catch up with their legitimate expectations. I want you to be able to go back to your constituents and say that you were able to end mobile roaming costs.”

If this legislation will indeed be passed, it will also take action on internet neutrality and cybercrime, which generally differ among EU member states. Let’s hope the EU will finally start thinking about its citizens and pass this bill.

The South Korean company is doing exactly that, managing to successfully develop a core technology of the 5G network. This latest wireless technology is set to enable users to access faster data service compared to the 4G networks which most of us are using.

According to Samsung, the 5G service was tested with a 28 GHz waveband to transmit data at a speed of Gbps. To help us make an idea of what the fifth-generation network means, Sammy said that it will allow us to download a full movie in less than a second.

Furthermore, we’ll be able to download and upload at incredible speeds of tens of gigabits per second. As a comparison, current 4G LTE networks offer only 75 Mbps.

Apparently, Samsung used 64 antenna elements, which enable the smartphone to exchange real-tim signals. This 5G service will undoubtedly become an international standard in the future, but that future is said to come a few years from now, close to 2020. There’s no telling how technology will evolve until then, so it might happen a lot faster than that. We’ll see.

Apple’s lawyers report certain problems with the transparency of the evidence gathering process before the trial.

Apple’s legal team issued a court filing which says that because the Android OS is used in every one of the Samsung made, patent infringing products, it “provides much of the accused functionality.”

As for Google’s reaction, its lawyers told the judge that when choosing to keep the search giant off the official complaint, it was actually a ”strategic decision” made by Apple. As a consequence, Google would now represent a third party to the case, meaning that it wouldn’t have the same rights as Apple and Samsung regarding “reciprocal discovery.”

Therefore, in the opportunity that Google was to hand over the precious Android documents, Apple could very well enjoy a “future discovery that we don’t think they’re entitled to” and “ideas about how to proceed that they wouldn’t have had.”

This current legal hassle is part of Apple’s second patent infringement lawsuit against the South Korean company. Last year, a jury awarded Apple $1.05 billion damages, but that number got cut in half later on.
