Goodbye Sony Ericsson! Hello Sony!

This is the first day in which Sony Ericsson is officially known as Sony Mobile Communications. It was October when Sony first announced its intentions of purchasing Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson's 50 percent stake in the Sony Ericsson joint venture for no less than €1.05 billion, and as a consequence, turning it into its own subsidiary.

Goodbye Sony Ericsson! Hello Sony!

The deal was expected to be finalized in January, but the process proved to take a little longer. There were lots of approvals necessary for the bid to be expected, but in the end it all worked out. As we said, as of now, every new phone launched from the company will only carry the Sony name, and we've already encountered a few of them. The already existing range of devices out in the market will continue bearing the Sony Ericsson logo. The Xperia S is the first high-end Android smartphone from Sony and we're expecting some new launches, starting later this month at the MWC event. Have a long life, Sony!
