HTC One X and One X+ say goodbye to future Android updates

If you own either a HTC One X or the HTC One X+, we kinda' have some bad news for you. Remember the sweet tasting Android KitKat that everyone has been talking about lately? Well, it turns out that neither of these handsets will receive any more software updates from HTC.

The Taiwanese made it all clear via Twitter, and the worst thing is that the One X and One X+ won't even get Android 4.3. Stuck on 2.2 Jelly Bean forever.

Obviously, we're simply talking about official updates here, and although we rarely recommend it, you always have the option of going for the custom ROM route.

Unfortunately, this isn't an isolated event - HTC's track record on updates is quite poor, and if you own anything else than the company's flagship, you'll most likely be left in the cold.

Still, if you own a One X or One X+, don't be sad. Things could be worse. Think of all those which use a Desire-branded midranger - most of them don't even get one basic software update. Ever.
