Panthech finally made the announcement that we've been waiting for, unveiling what looks like the most powerful Android smartphone to date. It's called the Pantech Vega Racer and it packs a dual core processor which is set at 1.5GHz and combined with the Adreno 220 GPU it puts to shame all other smartphones. The sad news is that at launch the Pantech Vega Racer will only be available in Korea and it's not certain if availability in other regions might follow in the future.

The Vega Racer is practically based on the same chipset as the HTC EVO 3D - Snapdragon MSM 8660, but it is undoubdetly faster due to the overclocked 1.5GHz CPU. Some other specifications of this new Android flagship would include a 4.3'' LCD of WVGA resolution, 1GB RAM as well as a performant 8 megapixel camera on the back and a 1.3MP unit designed for video calling. The phone is set to run on Android 2.3 Gingerbread from the moment it will hit the market later this month, through SK Telecom. It remains a mistery wheter or not the rest of the world might enjoy its capabilities but one thing is certain: the Pantech Vega Racer remains in history as the first 1.5GHz dual-core phone.
