The Nokia 808 PureView was definitely a ground-breaker, and it still holds the title of best cameraphone out there, despite the challenge from the Lumia 920. In an attempt to make the most out of their camera superiority, Nokia decided to come up with a PureView smartphone for their Windows Phone camp as well.

According to information from our source, this handset is codenamed EOS and will include a sensor similar to the one inside the 808 PureView, while its body will be made of aluminum.

We've heard rumors regarding another upcoming high-end Nokia which is set to be made out of aluminum, but that one is codenamed Catwalk. Whether or not it's the same animal, we'll have to wait and see.

Sources familiar to the matter also confirmed that AT&T will be the first one offering the EOS, which seems natural, considering the close connections that it has with Nokia. The design of the phone is said to keep the square edges of the current Lumia line-up. We'll be back with more details as they unfold.
