More and more manufacturers are sending in their invitations for the MWC event, with less than two weeks to go. Today, we checked our mail and stumbled upon this invitation (below) from Huawei, which intends to unveil its fastest Android smartphone yet at the mobile event in Barcelona. As you can see, the invitation doesn't offer too much info, but sources inside the company reported that the upcoming handset will be called Huawei Ascend D1 Q.

As it turns out, ''D'' stands for Diamond (which is the new series the device is part of), while Q allegedly stands for quad-core. Their latest high-end Android smartphone is the Ascend P1 S, which sports a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, implying that a newer and faster handset would naturally need a quad-core CPU.

The Ascend D1 Q won't be the only device that Huawei will announce at MWC - a 10 inch successor to the 7 inch MediaPad should also turn up, which will be called the MediaPad 10. Count on us to be present in Barcelona, reporting back with all the details.
