Samsung and Google make quite an invincible team, and there are many voices in the industry which don't appreciate these sort of deals between the two giants. Just recently, they signed a long-term partnership regarding their patent portfolios.

The new deal will cover both of the companies current and future patents for a period of ten years, and spreads over a broad range of technologies and business areas.

Our sources tell us that the collaboration will extend well beyond mobile products, with home appliances being on top of the new areas list. The fact that Google has just acquired Nest is a clear indication of its ambitions regarding this particular field.

Naturally, both Google and Samsung are excited about this agreement, which will allow them to focus on innovation instead of patent litigation. Perhaps more companies should do the same.
