This is the only conclusion that we've reached, after seeing numerous leaks of the Sony Ericsson Xperia HD (Nozomi) and after yet another tease which came directly from the manufacturer, regarding a completely different high-end smartphone. Starting off with the leaks, as you can see, we have a new series of pictures of what is said to be the Xperia HD.

We already talked about certain features which it might have, but new reports tells us that it will spot a 1280×720 HD touchscreen just like its name implies, a 12 megapixel camera, 1GB of RAM, 8GB of internal storage room, no microSD slot, microSIM, a dual-core 1.5GHz processor, while the whole thing will run on Android 2.3.7 Gingerbread.

It's really discouraging to find out that there's a big chance for the Xperia HD not to run 4.0 ICS, although the update will have been on the market for several months, by the time this smartphone will reach availability. Sure, the specs seem pretty good, but we would have also wished for an expansion slot and a camera which is capable of more than 1080p HD. Still, considering that the handset is still in the rumor mill, we hope that it will end up with better features when it will finally turn up. Moving on to Sony Ericsson's teaser images, you can check out the latest one below.

If you look at the camera and LED placement, you'll notice that this smartphone is clearly different from the Xperia HD/Nozomi and the official announcement will most likely take place this Monday at CES. We can’t really imagine that SE created an entire campaign and not unveil a great high end-smartphone these next few days, so stick around. As for the Nozomi, it will probably be launched in February, at the MWC, but only time will tell if we are right.
