According to the Romanian newspaper ZF.ro which cites a report from market research firm GfK, Windows Phone now holds 10% market share in Romania. Now this might not seem an impressive number, but it is enough to outsell iOS and become the number two platform in the EU country.

This information has been confirmed by both Microsoft and carriers Vodafone and Cosmote Mobile, which even went so far as to announce that sales of Windows smartphones were in 2013 four times higher than in 2012.

This is a trend that applies in most European countries, where Windows Phone managed to brake the 10% barrier. Apple isn't really feeeling that comfortable on the old continent, since even in the Western countries such as Germany, UK, France, Italy and Spain, the Cupertino company struggles to go past the 15% mark.
