ZTE N880E is the first non-Nexus device to feature Android Jelly Bean

Well this sure is a surprise, isn't it? When everyone expected Samsung, HTC, LG, or maybe Huawei to be the first to ship a smartphone running Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, which isn't a part of the Nexus lineup, here came ZTE, which presented the N880E as its first handset which runs this latst OS.

This is indeed a remarkable accomplishment on ZTE's part, one that is due to the Chinese giant's great relationship with Google. Also, their great R&D capabilities and experience in customizing devices for other manufacturers, brought them in this currently small club of handsets which boot Android 4.1 Jelly Bean out of the box.

As far as the specs of the ZTE N880E are concerned, don't expect anything too spectacular - a single-core Qualcomm CPU, clocked at 1GHz and 512MB of RAM, 4" WVGA display, 3.2MP camera, 4GB of expandable memory, and 1650mAh battery. It measures in at 119mm x 61mm x 10.4mm, while weighing 130 grams. The smartphone was launched back in May with Android 2.3 Gingerbread on board.
